Israel Cites ‘October 7th Massacre’ to Justify Controversial Strike in Doha

by admin477351

The Israeli military has directly linked its controversial strike on Hamas leaders in Doha to the “brutal October 7th massacre,” justifying the attack as a necessary measure against the architects of the deadliest day in Israel’s history. In a formal statement, the military asserted that the targeted leaders were not diplomats but active terrorists orchestrating war against the state of Israel.

This justification came after a series of blasts hit Qatar’s capital, where senior Hamas officials have long been based. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bolstered the military’s position by taking personal and public responsibility for the operation. The Israeli government’s narrative is clear: this was not an attack on a peace delegation, but a precision operation to bring terrorists to justice.

Among those reportedly targeted were Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin, who sit on Hamas’s highest ruling council. Israel holds them directly responsible for planning and executing the October 7th attacks and for continuing to manage the war from their base in Qatar. The military also stated that it used precise munitions following extensive intelligence gathering to minimize any harm to civilians.

Despite Israel’s justification, the attack has sparked international outrage, particularly from Qatar, which called it a “cowardly” violation of its sovereignty. The strike’s timing, during active ceasefire talks, has led many to question whether justice or the scuttling of diplomacy was the primary motive, a debate that now rages as the region braces for the consequences.
