Taiwan and Thailand are collaborating to enhance smart agriculture through the integration of artificial intelligence and low-carbon farming practices. A Taiwanese delegation comprising government officials, industry leaders, academics, and research experts recently visited key Thai locations including Bangkok, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai. These discussions aimed to advance the development and implementation of AI in agriculture, focusing on modernizing production and strengthening public-private partnerships.
During the visit, the Taiwanese group engaged with Thai officials and research institutions to explore smart-farming technologies and low-carbon agricultural practices. They also visited farms experimenting with innovative methods, such as organic tea cultivation and eco-friendly banana farming. At Maejo University, the discussions centered on agricultural engineering, technology adaptation, and training skilled professionals to support the sector’s growth.
The exchange between the two countries identified specific needs in Thailand for smart-farming equipment, technologies, and operational support. This collaboration aims to leverage existing agricultural cooperation programs to foster joint research initiatives, talent exchanges, field testing, and business partnerships, bolstering the smart agriculture sector.
Taiwan’s proactive approach in promoting these initiatives with Thailand underscores a commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and technological advancement, setting a precedent for future international cooperation in smart farming.
